With a population of 16,000, Menomonie considers itself a typical Midwest town anchored in tradition with an eye on the future. The buildings and the businesses that occupy the heart of the city (Main Street) have the honor of being designated a Downtown Historic District. The city also is home to many bars, small cafes, coffee shops, retail stores, many parks, sport arenas, summer festivals, and trails.
With a Mayo Health System Hospital and Medical Center, a Public Library overlooking Lake Menomin, a K-12 school system, University of Stout, and Chippewa Valley Technical College, Menomonie is an ideal community for both the college academic and the family with small children.
